In preparation of Thanksgiving dinner, I wanted to share a few of my simple guidelines to setting a festive table. I believe setting the table for the holidays contributes to the ambiance of the meal.
Glasses
The water/soda glasses are to the right of the plate, above the knife. The wineglass is placed to the right of the water/soda glass.
Napkins
My favorite display of the napkin is folded in quarters and placed fanned out in the wine glasses. It adds an elegant and festive tone.
Dinnerware
I prefer to set the table in advance with the dinner plate, salad plate, and bowl layered on top of each other. I love mixing patterns.
Silverware
Silverware should be set in the order it will be used from the outside in. The fork is placed on the left side of the plate. The knife is to the right of the plate with the cutting edge facing the plate. The spoon is placed to the right of the knife.
Centerpiece
I like to add a centerpiece of flowers to add beautiful color to the table.
Most importantly are the family and friends to enjoy the meal with!
Please join me this Thursday, Thanksgiving day at midnight, 3am ET, and 9am - 12pm ET for lots of fun, laughter, and fabulous designs!
xoxo,
Susan
